Cheating has become the norm in many sports, especially in football (soccer) and the officials and the authorities governing these sports seem to be doing less and less to stop it. It’s ruining a lot of sports events, where the main memory is often not exceptional play but a game being won through someone cheating. We strongly support the maximum use of video referrals by referees and umpires, which has all but stamped out cheating in sports (like rugby union and rugby league) where the technology has been properly applied. Football (Soccer) would benefit enormously from video refereeing but FIFA have been resisting it for years, on the grounds that it would interrupt the flow of the game. That's complete nonsense. What interrupts the flow of the game is players crowding around referees to dispute unfair decisions. In fact, fans enjoy video refereeing enormously in other sports!
Given the preponderance of drugs in sport the whole site could be devoted to this form of cheating, so we have decided to exclude it, with the single exception of cyclist Lance Armstrong, whose drug cheating was staggering in its complexity and consequences.
