F31 - Bryan Caruso cheats by hitting himself

Sport: Football Category: Feigning Injury
Submitted by: Anonymous
Context:

In an Under-20 World Cup qualifier in 2011 against Ecuador, Chile's Bryan Caruso decides to slap himself in the face with an opponent's arm, which conned the referee into awarding a free kick to Chile, with 13 minutes left to play!

Outcome:

Chile got a free kick but nothing came of it.  Nobody was booked for the 'violent conduct'.  The Ecuadorian defender,  Edson Montano could easily have been sent off. Ecuador were winning 1-0 at the time and that was the final score, so Caruso's cheating didn't help his team.
