F15 - Bournemouth save a penalty by moving before the ball is kicked

Sport: Football Category: Movement
Submitted by: Jamie
Context:

Bournemouth were a goal down and conceded a penalty just before half time, in a relegation battle game near the end of the season.  Goalies are allowed to move sideways  as long as they don't move forward and defenders (and attackers) have to remain outside the penalty area before the ball is kicked.  However, you can clearly see the goalie advance off his line and narrow the angle, to allow him to get a hand on the ball and the defender, who enters the penalty area before the ball is kicked, manages to get to the ball first and clear it.

Outcome:

The referee and goalline assistant are supposed to watch out for movement but didn't spot anything.  A video referee would have had the penalty retaken. Bournemouth went in at half time just one goal down and scored in the 82nd minute to record a draw. At the end of the season both teams survived relegation so the consequences were not significant.
